Bromcom Student Portal Login Issues

Modified on Tue, 6 Dec, 2022 at 9:57 AM

Please ask the pupil to try accessing it in school via https://vle.bromcomcloud.com/
If it doesn't work in school, please ask the pupil to come and see us.
If it works in school but not at home, it's most likely the web browser of the device is already signed into another o365 account. When this happens, clicking the "Login with Microsoft" button on the student portal page will attempt to use this account instead of asking for the student to enter their email address / password. This then results in a message saying No Account found, as the o365 account does not have a Student Portal account associated to it. To get around this problem, we'd suggest using a private browsing tab. These tabs don't use stored credentials so they will force the user to enter their email address / password.  Once in private browsing mode, try accessing https://vle.bromcomcloud.com/ again.  The user should be asked to enter their school email address / password.

If you aren't sure how to browse in a private tab, follow the steps below:

How to browse privately using Google Chrome

  • Open Google Chrome.
  • The easiest way to open an Incognito window is with the keyboard shortcut combination Ctrl-Shift-N (Windows) or Command-Shift-N (macOS).
  • Another way is to click on the menu on the upper right - it's the three vertical dots - and select New Incognito Window from the list.
  • The new Incognito window can be recognized by the dark background and the stylized "spy" icon just to the left of the three-dots menu.

How to privately browse in Microsoft Edge

  • Open Microsoft Edge.
  • The easiest way to open an InPrivate window is with keyboard shortcut combination of Ctrl-Shift-N (Windows) or Command-Shift-N (macOS).
  • A slower way to get there is to click on the menu at the upper right -- it's three dots arranged horizontally -- and choose New InPrivate Window from the menu.
  • Microsoft's browser shows when InPrivate mode is operating by displaying a blue-coloured oval marked "In Private" to the right of the address bar.

How to browse privately using Apple's Safari

  • Open Safari.
  • To open what Safari calls a Private Window on a Mac, users can do a three-key combination of Command-Shift-N.
  • Otherwise, a window can be called up by selecting the File menu and clicking on New Private Window.
  • Safari tags each Private Window by darkening the address bar.
